Experience the difference with Monash University School Holiday Program (MUSHP)

Your child will love the fun, exciting activities at MUSHP, and you can relax - knowing that they are in the safe, experienced hands of a service offering exceptional quality care to the university and local community. MUSHP activities include swimming, indoor and outdoor sport, water polo, adventure days, cinema, science, cooking, drama and music, art and craft.

MUSHP Dates for 2008:

  • 2nd January - 25th January - enrolments close Friday 14th December
  • 26th March - 4th April      - enrolments close Friday 14th March 
  • 30th June - 11th July- enrolments close Friday 20th June     
  • 22nd September - 3rd October- enrolments close Friday 12th September **Enrolments now open**

MUSHP is a workplace sponsored program that provides school holiday care for primary school aged children of Monash University families and the local community. MUSHP is accredited with the National Childcare Accreditation Council (NCAC), recently achieving a result of High Quality across all 8 Quality Areas (QA).

MUSHP is a leader in the field of Outside School Hours Care programs, constantly striving for excellence in service, programming and staffing. The program has been running on Clayton campus since 1988, providing a safe, inclusive and challenging environment for primary school aged children. MUSHP prides itself on community engagement; professionalism of staff; integrity of programming and commitment from Monash University management.

At MUSHP, children can participate in a range of exciting activities including:

  • Sport Sessions
  • Creative Creations
  • Cooking
  • DMD - Dance/Music/Drama
  • Video (limited to one per group per week)
  • Free Fun
  • Story Time
  • Kids Choice (children choose activities for this session)
  • Quiz
  • Festival
  • Mini Olympics

The timetable is flexible enough to incorporate children's ideas for activities they wish to do during the day.

On particular days, Adventures are scheduled. Adventures are special presentations and activities hosted by organisations from the local community, who come to share their specific knowledge and skills with the children.

Adventures may include experiences like:

  • African Drumming
  • Water Polo
  • Circus Skills
  • Wild Action - Live Animals
  • Science - Monash Science Centre
  • Sports Clinics - Football, Tennis, Handball etc
  • Movies @ University Cinema
  • Alpha Productions - Children Pantomime
  • Cooking
  • Cartooning & Manga Drawing

MUSHP operates 8:00am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday during the school holidays, including a 4 week program in January.

The daily fee for 2008 is $40 per day. An additional fee applies for specific adventures (please refer to the enrolment form for details).

Please note, enrolments received after closing dates will incur a late fee of $10.

To receive Child Care Benefit (CCB) you must apply to Family Assistance Office / Centrelink (PH 13 61 50) and link your family to our service: Monash University School Holiday Program - Customer Reference Number: 555 007 699C

We are unable to provide any reduction in fees until we have your status is writing.

  • Timetables are subject to change
  • An information package, including group timetable, is sent out once your child's enrolment has been confirmed on receipt of payment.
