About Academic Board

The Academic Board of Monash University is established under the Monash University Act 1958 and is responsible for oversight of the University’s academic affairs, including the maintenance of high standards in teaching and research.

Members of the Academic Board are drawn from the following categories:

Ex-officio members

Elected academic members

Heads of faculty academic units

Elected student members, including undergraduate and postgraduate

Members appointed to the Board on the nomination of the Chair and relevant Campus Director.

The Board is chaired by an elected President, who is supported by two elected Vice-Presidents.
