Occupational Health and Safety Director

Mr. Cliff Verhagen is the newly appointed Director of Occupational Health and Safety. The department's aim is to ensure the effective management of occupational health and safety issues across all campuses of the University. This is achieved by:

promoting and developing strategies and programs to minimise risks of injury and damage;
ensuring that Monash University meets, so far as practicable, health, safety and environment statutory requirements;
providing occupational health and safety consultancy services to the members of the University community.

OHS&E Consultancy Team

Occupational Health and Safety have structured its operations to provide direct contact points for staff and students via the "Occupational Health and Safety Consultant Team". The consultant team provide support and advice on all occupational health and safety queries or issues.

Occupational Health and Safety Strategic Support Team

The Strategic Support Team's role is to:

Provide specialist occupational health and safety support as required
Develop tools and resources that support the activities of the Occupational Health and Safety Consultant Team
Develop projects that enable Occupational Health and Safety to fulfill its strategic plan
Develop and manage occupational health and safety policy development and implementation
Develop and compile statistical data on hazards, incidents, training etc.
