Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences Equity Travel Bursary
To be eligible, you must be:
- an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, and
- a full-time continuing undergraduate student enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at a Monash campus in Australia, and
- from one or more of Monash University's defined equity or personal disadvantage groups, and
- undertaking an elective placement in a seriously disadvantaged Australian community or developing country.
Selection of candidates will be on the basis of:
- need
- academic achievement
- the merit of the proposed work program in the seriously disadvantaged community (as determined by the selection committee)
- the quality of the written submission, in which students will be expected to demonstrate how the financial assistance of the bursary would assist with the budgeted cost of undertaking the elective.
$2000 one-off payment. Two bursaries are available, one for a student enrolled in MBBS and one for a student enrolled in another degree in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
Deferability
This bursary cannot be deferred.
