Vice-Chancellor's Concertmaster Scholarship

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, or
  • an international student, and
  • a commencing music performance student intending to enrol full-time in an honours degree or postgraduate (coursework) degree in the School of Music at a Monash campus in Australia, or
  • a continuing music performance student enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree in the School of Music at a Monash campus in Australia, and
  • majoring in violin performance studies

Selection criteria

Awarded to eligible students based on a combination of an audition/interview, academic achievement and previous leadership/music performance experience. Students must have achieved a minimum of a distinction weighted average mark (70 per cent).

Value

$6000 per 48 credit points of study for a maximum of one year only.

Retention

Recipients must maintain full-time enrolment and a minimum of a distinction weighted average mark (70 per cent) in semester one.

Deferability

This scholarship cannot be deferred.
