Monash Gippsland East Gippsland Shire Council Bursaries

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

• an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, and
• a commencing student intending to enrol full-time in an approved on-campus undergraduate degree* at the Monash Gippsland campus, and
• a resident of the East Gippsland Shire, and
• from one or more of Monash University’s defined equity or personal disadvantage groups.

* Graduate entry Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery students are not eligible.

Selection criteria

Awarded to eligible students on the basis of need. Further consideration will be given to students based on ATAR score or equivalent. Preference will be given to students residing in Monash Residential Services at the Gippsland campus.

Value and number available

$3000 per annum for one year only. For students enrolled in Monash Residential Services the $3000 is subtracted from the student’s Monash Residential Services accommodation fee. Three bursaries are available, and in addition one bursary is available to an eligible student who is an Indigenous Australian.

Retention

Recipients must maintain a full-time on-campus enrolment and a minimum of a pass weighted average mark (50 per cent) in semester 1.

Deferability

This bursary cannot be deferred.
