Monash Gippsland - Gipps TAFE Bursary

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

• an Australian or New Zealand citizen, holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or holder of a permanent humanitarian visa, and
• a commencing student intending to enrol full-time and on-campus at the Monash Gippsland campus in one of the following courses, and

          - Bachelor of Social and Community Welfare or Associate Degree in Social and Community Welfare
          - Bachelor of Information Technology and Systems
          - Bachelor of Business and Commerce or Associate Degree in Business and Commerce
          - Bachelor of Nursing
          - Bachelor of Nursing and Rural Health Practice
          - Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery
          - Bachelor of Visual and Media Arts
          - Bachelor of Arts (Journalism or Communication)
          - Diploma of Tertiary Studies (including the Nursing program at Leongatha)

• a student of GippsTAFE who has completed one of the following courses, and

          - Community Services – Certificate IV to Diploma
          - Information Technology – Certificate IV
          - Nursing – Certificate IV in Health (Nursing), Certificate IV Health Science (Foundations)
          - Diploma or Certificate IV in Business and Accounting
          - Diploma or Certificate IV in Art and Design
          - Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing

• from one or more of Monash University’s defined equity and personal disadvantage groups.

Selection criteria

Awarded to eligible students on the basis of need. Further consideration will be given to students based on ENTER score or equivalent. 

Value

$1500 per annum for one year only.

Number available in 2010

Six. Two bursaries will be offered to eligible students enrolling in the Bachelor of Business and Commerce.

Retention

Recipients must maintain a full-time on-campus enrolment.

Deferability

This bursary cannot be deferred.
