Monash PSA Insurance Medical Science Scholarship

This scholarship was introduced to encourage and attract students to pursue an undergraduate honours degree in medical sciences and has been established from funds donated by the Victorian Medical Insurance Agency.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

an Australian citizen, and
intending to enrol full-time in the Bachelor of Medical Sciences honours program in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at a Monash campus in Australia, and
intending to reside in Monash Residential Services accommodation or Mannix College.

Selection criteria

Awarded to the highest achieving eligible students based on a combination of academic achievement and need. Preference will be given to students:

Demonstrating financial disadvantage
who are prepared to reside at Mannix College or with Monash Residential Services*, and agree to participate in the medical tutoring program at one of the residence halls as part of the scholarship
from regional and remote areas of Victoria
from Victoria
demonstrating leadership qualities

*A place will be reserved in Mannix College or Monash Residential Services for students who are offered the scholarship.

Value and number available

Commonwealth supported place contributions paid for one year plus accommodation fees for one year at either Monash Residential Services or Mannix College. Total value up to a maximum of $22,000.

Recipients will be required to provide a one-page report for the donor at the end of the academic year, detailing their achievements over the course of the year and the impact the scholarship has had on them.

Retention

Recipients must maintain full-time enrolment in the Bachelor of Medical Sciences honours program and reside in Monash Residential Services or Mannix College.

Deferability

This scholarship cannot be deferred.
