Travel Concessions

If you are eligible for a 2009 Victorian Public Transport Student Concession Card, a pre-printed application form will be mailed to you in February, before the start of the 1st semester.

The form will have your enrolment details, ID photo and Monash University stamp printed on it so you can take it straight to one of these locations:

Once Semester one has started, you will also be able order an application form via the Web Enrolment System (WES) if you:

  • don’t receive a form in the mail by the start of the 1st semester
  • lose your form
  • change your enrolment from part-time to full-time
  • become eligible for concession after the start of the 1st semester

Eligibility

Under the Victorian Public Transport Authority, to be eligible for this concession card you must be one of the following:

  • an Australian citizen or holder of an Australian Permanent Residency Visa
  • a student with refugee status
  • a student with an Australian Development Scholarship (i.e. AusAID student)

 and you must be either:

  • attending a School/College/Institution as part of an approved overseas exchange program (i.e. you must have the word “EXCHANGE” in your Monash course title)
  • a full-time, undergraduate student (min 0.375 EFTSL per semester).

You are not eligible for a 2009 Victorian Public Transport Student Concession Card if you are:

  • an International student that does not have “EXCHANGE” in their course title
  • enrolled part-time (i.e. less than 0.375 EFTSL per semester)
  • a postgraduate or PhD student
  • enrolled in a course which is less than 10 weeks long
  • an Off Campus Learning or Distance Education student
  • a New Zealand citizen with a Special Category Visa (you must have an Australian Permanent Residency Visa to be eligible)
