Vice-Chancellor's Group, Information and Communication Technology - VCG (ICT)

Terms of Reference

The VCG (ICT) will be responsible for the strategic governance of information and communications technology (ICT) for the University.

The VCG (ICT) will:

1. Be responsible for strategic governance of whole-of-university ICT, including:

  • ICT strategy and planning;
  • ICT organisational structure and policy;
  • The efficient delivery of ICT services to meet business needs, including pathways for innovation; 
  • Prioritisation of ICT investment and resource allocation across the University;
  • Compliance with requirements for security, privacy, and resource use;
  • Consideration of the human factors in the use of ICT.

2. Will consider reports from the Chief Information Officer regards service delivery, project delivery, ICT procurement, ICT compliance and risk, ICT strategic issues and operational management;

3. Will also consider matters referred by the University Council or the Academic Board, campus IT Councils or, through the Vice-Chancellor, by any board or committee of the University.

Meeting frequency: 4-5 times per year
