Recommendation

Define responsibility for ICT asset management process:

• ITS should manage the asset management tool & process on behalf of the University.
• ITS based ICT Asset Manager to coordinate implementation and facilitate operation of processes and tools implemented by distributed IT and support staff.
• Asset Manager to be responsible for managing assets to increase cost savings and to align with Green IT strategies

The use of an appropriate asset management tool to manage assets:

• Introduce a University-wide asset management system for ICT assets and equipment, integrated with existing university-wide systems
