Project Management Capability for the University and the PMO

• Improved structure to ensure project duplication is minimised and that ICT project benefits realised can be measured.
• Optimise the allocation of project management resources at the University level providing a larger pool of project managers that the University can draw upon
• Provide a consistent approach to project management and tracking of project scope changes
• Provide a proven project management methodology across all material projects

The improved PMO structure and Project Management is achieved through a 2 phase approach:

Phase 1 :

Coordinate the ITS PMO group with a virtual team of Project Managers

Phase 2:

• Recruit project management specialists internal and externally to help manage the University’s portfolio.
• Perform an audit in year 3 or 4 to ensure that the methodology and toolset are appropriately applied
  

To ensure better process and managing funds distributed for ICT projects a new funding structure for Faculty ICT Projects is considered through the development of a 5th portfolio.
