Employee Assistance Program (Staff Counselling) and Supervisor Assist Service

The Employee Assistance Program and Supervisor Assist Service is representative of Monash University's commitment to provide a supportive work environment, as well as contribute to the health and wellbeing of all staff.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

What is it?

A professional, confidential counselling service available free of charge to all Monash employees and their immediate family members.  Monash offers a combined internal/external EAP.

This service can be of assistance when staff are experiencing work-related and personal or health problems.

Where is it?

Monash employees can access either:

  • The external counselling service provided by an independent organisation – OSA Group (A Professional Accredited Provider) on 1300 361 008

    or

  • The internal counselling service provided by the University Counselling Service;

Immediate family members of Monash Employees are also able to access the EAP via the external counselling service.

Supervisor Assist

What is it?

A consulting service available to Monash Supervisors and Team Leaders to provide practical advice and support when needed.  This can be tailored to meet your needs. You may want step by step advice or you may just need a sounding board.

Supervisor Assist may be used for support with:

  • Managing interpersonal conflict
  • Responding to staff whose problems are having an impact on work
  • Assisting a staff member not coping with change
  • Managing difficulties with team functioning
