Debra Lawrance graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) in 1977 and has worked extensively in theatre, film and television. She has had the opportunity to work closely with some of the world’s finest actors including Meryl Streep in Evil Angels and the British actor Tom Conti in Two Brothers Running. Of Debra’s many television roles, she is best known for playing Pippa on the long-running series Home and Away.
Some highlights of Debra’s theatre work have included the London tour of No Sugar, a play by Jack Davis, and several plays for the Melbourne Theatre Company. She is looking forward to the upcoming 2009 season of Steel Magnolias which will tour nationally for 6 months.
In recent years, Debra has turned her attention to teaching, mentoring and coaching. Along with conducting her own Melbourne based workshops, Debra is also a senior tutor for the NIDA Corporate Performance program which includes the She Means Business series. This workshop assists women to communicate more effectively and more confidently in the workplace. In the past three years Debra has tutored hundreds of clients from the business, service and academic sectors.
Debra is a dynamic speaker and passionate about sharing her in-depth knowledge on how to develop and use your voice effectively. Debra inspires women to develop new ways of communicating and to lead with more authority. She is keen to empower women to be more confident and to command attention in whatever field they choose.
