Business writingOne day
OverviewThis program takes participants through the six principles of effective writing. Along the way participants will explore rules for effective writing and challenge some long held beliefs about what good writing should look like. This course is practically oriented and provides many examples of written communication for examination. Participants are asked to bring real examples of their writing to work on, as well as being encouraged to look for both outstanding examples of business writing and poor examples of writing to share with the group. Upon completion of this program, participants may be interested in completing the more advanced and specialised Report Writing program. Intended OutcomesParticipants will be expected to write a variety of business oriented letters and memos. They will be expected to apply the rules as they are discussed. Existing letters will be checked for accuracy and understanding and requests will be answered in an appropriate manner. Writing will be clearer, simpler and more conversational where appropriate.
