    Production procedures

There are three main steps to the production of the Handbook. Faculty editors will receive reminder emails from the Handbook coordinator prior to all of the critical dates outlined in the schedule.

    1. Completion of course, unit* and Areas of study sections

    • Faculties enter data into the CUPID database.

CUPID is used to collect and edit the information regarding courses, areas of study and units.

NOTE: In order to be published in the Handbook, courses must have been fully approved, as appropriate by the faculty or the University. Refer to Governing legislation, policies and procedures for reference to course approval processes.

All course and Areas of study entries in CUPID must - at the date designated in the schedule for the end of July 2011 - be the FINAL VERSION APPROVED FOR PUBLICATION.

    * For notes, instructions and timelines regarding UNIT entries in the Handbook, refer to the CUPID website.

    2. Faculty information section

All editing changes must be marked up in track change mode. Files must - at end of July 2011 - be the FINAL VERSION APPROVED FOR PUBLICATION.

    3. Review and sign-off of Handbook in web staging

    • Faculties can review their Handbook entries for courses, units and areas of study in web staging (overnight upload) and if necessary make additional edits into CUPID until the scheduled sign-off date; editors should maintain close correspondence with the Handbook coordinator for specific instructions during this phase.
    • Word change requests (for Faculty information sections) will be actioned and faculties notified by the Handbook coordinator when these can be reviewed in web staging.

Note: unit links will be pointing to current-year unit entries during the web staging review phase.

Faculties sign off on Handbook contents by 5pm, 22 September 2011.
