CAPA is responsible for considering the following:

• Applications for academic promotion to lecturer, senior lecturer or associate professor for academic staff members not located in a faculty, in accordance with the Academic Promotions 2007: Guidelines for Candidates and Committees.
• Proposals for:
• Accelerated appointment to lecturer, senior lecturer or associate professor.
• Fixed-term or ongoing appointment to lecturer, senior lecturer or associate professor due to exceptional quality or special or extraordinary circumstance.
